The IT Intern helps identify and prevent cyber threats to Asbury by actively monitoring and maintaining several security related systems such as reviewing security alerts, anti-virus, patching, vulnerability scanning and related systems. The Intern works closely with the Director of Cybersecurity to create and implement IT security plans and procedures to continually enhance Asbury’s cyber security posture.

The IT Intern helps identify and prevent cyber threats to Asbury by actively monitoring and maintaining several security related systems such as reviewing security alerts, anti-virus, patching, vulnerability scanning and related systems. Duties/Responsibilities
- · Daily monitoring of security tools to protect sensitive information and systems (anti-virus, patching, firewalls, data encryption, SIEM, email protection, etc.).
- · Assist with the development and implementation of security standards and best practices for the organization.
- · Recommend security enhancement to the Director of Cybersecurity.
- · Monitor the organization’s networks for security breaches and investigate violations when they occur.
- · Familiarity with web and network related technologies.
- · Aid and assist Tier I technicians and end users when IT security assistance is needed.
- · Develop an understanding of IT audits and controls such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA, SEC, FTC, etc.
- · Willingness to learn new technologies.
- · Stay current on IT security trends and news.
- · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- · Familiar with the FTC Safeguard Rule.
- · Self-managed and motivated.
- · Excellent communication skills and team oriented.
- · Develop, maintain, and deploy security training which includes phishing training.
