The Payroll General Ledger Compliance Specialist will be responsible for all GL postings and account reconciliations within the Payroll Department. This includes the monthly bank reconciliation, payroll intercompany cash reconciliations, payroll GL account reconciliations and routine audit validation.
Asbury is relocating its corporate headquarters to Sandy Springs, GA in Fall of 2025. Upon completion of our headquarters’ relocation, this role will be based in our Sandy Springs, GA office.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintains a solid understanding of general ledger rules and payroll accounting
- Processes and post weekly payroll General Legers for all 140 dealerships
- Posts HSA, FSA, 401k, taxes and garnishment expenses
- Completes weekly payroll schedule and balance sheet reconciliation
- Completes weekly Cash Reconciliation
- Validates weekly commission
- Completes Weekly Audit and Compliance
- Prepares and posts Month End accruals
- Conducts wage comparison reconciliation
- Facilitates outstanding check processes
- Reviews and processes payroll GL’s for each Platform including the corporate office
- Performs monthly reconciliations
- Performs monthly reporting to Corporate Finance Department
- Follows payroll accounting standards
- Reconciles and posts all ACH and wire transfers from payment services
- Works with the Controllers with any GL issues, changes or concerns
- Practices continuous improvement
- Performs other related duties to benefit the mission/vision of the organization
- Minimum of one year in an Accounting role required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- A solid understanding of general ledger rules and payroll accounting
- Acute attention to detail, process and organization
- Intermediate Excel and MS Office skills
