Description
The Materials Control Specialist will be responsible for the Inventory Control duties of the Greencastle and Waynesboro PA locations, and assist with the Planning, Buying and other Supply Chain functions.
The incumbent will conduct cycle counts and maintain an accurate inventory of raw material and parts produced; investigate inventory discrepancies as they are reported to identify root causes and make necessary adjustments to correct inventory; perform purchasing planning to include releasing deliveries for vendors to maximize production and minimize inventory impact.
The incumbent will learn and gain an understanding of the Supply Chain functions to include, but not limited to physical inventory, cycle count process, receiving of PO’s, Customer/Distribution return processes, forecasting, and Procurement/Planning of raw material.
The Materials Control Specialist will provide back-up support to the Buyer and Master Planner.
Key Responsibilities

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field is preferred, or a combination of equivalent job knowledge and experience.
- Specialty certification such as APICS CPIM is a plus
- 2 yrs Production Planning experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Requires strong analytical and communication skills
- Must demonstrate good judgment to be able to plan and accomplish goals
- Experience in MPS/MRP systems for inventory control, scheduling, and forecasting
- Must be customer oriented and have the ability to work as a team player with others inside and outside the organization to maximize the focus on customer requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft software including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of AS/400 system and ERP system
- Understanding of inventory system and parts produced
- Knowledge of production processes and flow
- Ability to travel between the Greencastle and Waynesboro Plants
