Description
The Configuration Management Administrator (CMA) is responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving the configuration control of documents within the Data Repository (KDR). The CMA ensures that configuration control and approval policies are followed. Data maintained within the KDR includes but is not limited to: CAD models, drawings, software, part data, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Export Control Classification(s), company policies, company records, and work instructions. This role requires rigorous attention to detail and strong, proactive inter-department communication skills.
Requirements
Major Responsibilities:
- Performs activities in accordance with Configuration Management policies and procedures.
- Ensures timely release of documents and ECOs by shepherding required reviews and approvals.
- Ensures quality and business policy documents are reviewed as required.
- Engages with strategic projects to ensure Configuration Management can deliver required functionality within project timeframes.
- Mentors the organization on Configuration Management services, concepts, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains and improves document control workflows within the KDR.
- Tests revised document control workflows prior to organizational roll-out.
- Collects and reports metrics as required.
- Identifies and reports non-compliance situations and works with leadership for resolution.
- Performs Configuration Management audits as directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of previous configuration management experience in a highly regulated industry (i.e. aerospace, medical, nuclear, etc.).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Familiar with applying configuration management standards such as EIA-649, ISO 10007, or MIL-HDBK-61.
Minimum Competencies:
- Solid understanding of configuration control principles and practices.
- Proficient in administration of corporate configuration control software.
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience architecting compliant, logical, efficient workflows for Aerospace configuration management.
Preferred Competencies:
- Experience integrating version control systems together, such as SVN and PDM or PDM and an ERP system.
- Ability to review documents and drawings for completeness, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
- Knowledge in AMSE Y14.100 or MIL-DTL-310000C.
- Experience reviewing drawings for compliance to Y14.5 (GD&T Standard).
Operational Details / Work Environment
- This is largely a desk role working with a computer for extended periods of time.
- 1st shift
- May require occasional visits to manufacturing floor or test facilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $145,000.00 - $187,000.00 per year
