Ascella Technologies is seeking a mid-level FOIA expert with comprehensive experience covering the full range of activities required to process a FOIA request from agency receipt to drafting the final response. This work will be completed on-site in Washington, DC, with the ability to work remotely 2 days a week.

What you will be doing

  • Completing redactions, in compliance with federal laws and agency instructions/guidelines
  • Providing technical guidance and direction to other junior analysts
  • Building and completing comprehensive transmittal packages
  • Maintaining complete and accurate case notes

What you need to be considered for this role (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance (Required)
  • At least 4-7 years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience with reviewing and accomplishing complete redactions to federal records
  • Proficiency in the application of most of the FOIA exemptions
  • Ability to analyze federal records for redaction pursuant to the FOIA
  • Proficiency with database and file operations
  • Familiarity with the processing of submitter notices
  • Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills; ability to adapt and manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced challenging environment
  • Expert communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality accurate reports
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision under a system of discipline and accountability
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity while dealing directly with internal and external customers

Position: Mid-Level FOIA Analyst
Location: Washington, DC
Base Compensation: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and we are open to discussing compensation based on your qualifications and experience
Other Compensation: 4% contribution to 401(k), performance bonus, profit-sharing
Paid Time Off: 16 days PTO/year, 11 holidays/year
