The Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for providing high-level bookkeeping and accounting support to multiple dental practices within Ascend Dental Alliance's portfolio. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, timely reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Bank Transactions
- Code bank transactions accurately for all assigned entities.
- Reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Daily Financial Reporting
- Process end-of-day reports for all entities.
- Verify accuracy of deposits, payments, and recorded transactions.
- Accounts Payable
- Process accounts payable for various entities, ensuring proper coding and timely payments.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any payment discrepancies.
- Client Communication
- Respond to client emails and inquiries in a prompt, professional manner.
- Provide clear and concise financial updates and recommendations.
- Meeting Coordination
- Schedule and set up finance meetings or calls with clients.
- Update and distribute finance meeting agendas.
- Maintain accurate client reference notes for ongoing financial discussions.
- Administrative Support
- Maintain and update client records, financial documents, and accounting systems.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline and enhance bookkeeping processes.
- Experience with Gusto payroll platform (minimum 1 year).
- Prior experience in a bookkeeping firm or equivalent environment managing multiple client accounts.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) including managing multiple entities, reconciling transactions, generating reports, etc.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with clients and team members.
- QBO ProAdvisor Certification and/or QBO Payroll Certification are highly advantageous.
- Experience in the dental or healthcare industry is a plus, but not required.
- Demonstrated commitment to meeting deadlines and providing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a growing, fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in general office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace).
