Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional technical support and customer service to ensure the smooth operation of our computer systems and networks. This role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking principles, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Duties
- Provide technical support for desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Assist users with software applications, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and manage computer hardware and software inventory.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues related to TCP/IP configurations.
- Implement and manage firewall settings to ensure network security.
- Utilize ticketing systems such as Remedy to track and document support requests.
- Collaborate with IT team members to improve processes and enhance user experience.
- Conduct regular maintenance on systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users on best practices for computer usage.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in technical support or desktop support roles.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users.
- Knowledge of computer networking concepts, particularly TCP/IP.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Understanding of firewall configurations and security protocols.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Network ) are a plus but not required.
