DataStaff, Inc. is currently seeking a Desktop/Technical Support Technician to fill a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Richmond, VA.
*This position is 100% onsite
*Some local travel will be required (10%)
Responsibilities:
- Support a Care Center, which is a medical facility that has about 200 IT devices (desktops, laptops, and printers, mobile phones).
- Assist IT Management with integration, management, and support of the Information Technology program for the Care Center and some remote Veterans Benefits sites.
- provide IT administration and technical support for agency specific software and hardware systems.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient knowledge of installing, troubleshooting, administering Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office suite, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, McAfee Anti-Virus Software, Adobe Acrobat Reader/Writer, and other commercial business software products.
- Knowledge with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of Android and Apple mobile devices.
- Working knowledge of supporting and troubleshooting Ethernet based LAN/WAN environments, including network protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Expert working knowledge and experience with E-mail application installation, administration, troubleshooting and training (Google Suite, PST files, calendaring, distribution lists, etc.)
- Basic experience with IT inventory control, ticketing system and reporting.
- Good understanding of Network and IT security.
- Possesses excellent customer service skills and is teamwork oriented.
- Possesses good organization and time management skills.
Required Skills:
- 3 Years - Basic knowledge on setup, configuration, and maintenance of PC desktops, laptops, and related peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.).
- 3 Years - Basic knowledge of supporting Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office suite, Internet Web Browsers, Anti-Virus Software, and various software.
- 3 Years - Basic knowledge with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of mobile devices.
- 3 Years - Basic experience with the setup and support for IT presentations utilizing equipment and software.
- 3 Years - Basic experience with IT inventory control and reporting.
- 3 Years - Basic experience with IT staff training via in person or electronic media.
- 3 Years - Basic experience with analog and digital phone configuration and troubleshooting.
- 3 Years - Working knowledge and experience with computer application installation, administration, and training.
- 3 Years - Possesses professional and courteous attitude with customers, team members, and support vendors with the ability to communicate clearly & effectively.
- 3 Years - Possesses excellent problem solving skills and has the ability to utilize available resources to assess/resolve problems in a timely manner.
- 3 Years - Possesses the ability to create IT documentation on technical issues and provide solutions that are easy to understand.
- 3 Years - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and able to perform repetitive motion to include standing, sitting, reaching, lifting, walking, bending, and climbing.
