JOB PURPOSE :
We are seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager to join our mission-driven organization. Care Ring's Human Resource Manager will be responsible for supporting all aspects of an organization's human resources function, acting as a liaison between management, employees, and the organization's extremal human resources vendor, strategically aligning HR practices with overall business goals. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our mission, vision and population served, while bringing strategic HR leadership to support our dedicated workforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning :
- Develop innovative, cost-effective recruitment strategies to attract mission-aligned talent within non-profit budget constraints
- Build relationships with community organizations, universities, and volunteer networks to create sustainable talent pipelines
- Design and implement inclusive hiring practices that promote diversity and reflect our community-focused values
- Manage volunteer recruitment and integration with permanent staff structure
Onboarding, Offboarding and Professional Development :
Create comprehensive onboarding and programs that emphasize both role-specific skills and mission awarenessDevelop training initiatives that maximize internal expertise and community partnershipsImplement mentorship programs to support employee growth and retentionDesign cross-training opportunities to build organizational resilienceManage an employee's departure in tandem with direct reporting leader, including coordinating the handover of duties, collecting company property, conducting exit interviews, updating employee records, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements related to terminationCompensation and Benefits Administration :
Support employees with optimizing their benefits packagesDevelop creative non-monetary benefits and recognition programsEnsure transparent communication about total compensation packages alongside external benefits vendorsOrganizational Culture and Employee Relations :
Foster a positive workplace culture that reflects our mission and valuesImplement employee engagement initiatives that strengthen commitment to organizational goalsMediate workplace conflicts with sensitivity to non-profit dynamics using Employee Grievance PolicyCompliance and Risk Management :
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws specific to non-profit organizationsMaintain updated personnel policies and proceduresWith external vendor, support worker's compensation and unemployment claimsWith Director of Quality and Compliance, support safety programs and workplace security measuresStrategic Leadership :
Participate in strategic planning to align HR initiatives with organizational mission and goalsWork with staff and leadership to develop succession planning strategies for key positionsCreate and monitor HR metrics to demonstrate program effectivenessTechnology Requirements :
Proficiency in HRIS systems and ATS platformsPossesses Excel skills for budget and metrics trackingKnowledge of learning management systemsSuccess Factors :

Bachelor's degree in Business, with a concentration on Human Resources10 years of progressive HR experience; Experience in non-profit sector a preferred; PHR / SPHR certification preferred; Demonstrated experience with grant-funded positions and related compliance requirements; Understanding of non-profit governance and operationsValid driver's license and insured automobileMust have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
