JOB PURPOSE :

We are seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager to join our mission-driven organization. Care Ring's Human Resource Manager will be responsible for supporting all aspects of an organization's human resources function, acting as a liaison between management, employees, and the organization's extremal human resources vendor, strategically aligning HR practices with overall business goals. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our mission, vision and population served, while bringing strategic HR leadership to support our dedicated workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning :

  • Develop innovative, cost-effective recruitment strategies to attract mission-aligned talent within non-profit budget constraints
  • Build relationships with community organizations, universities, and volunteer networks to create sustainable talent pipelines
  • Design and implement inclusive hiring practices that promote diversity and reflect our community-focused values
  • Manage volunteer recruitment and integration with permanent staff structure

Onboarding, Offboarding and Professional Development :

  • Create comprehensive onboarding and programs that emphasize both role-specific skills and mission awareness
  • Develop training initiatives that maximize internal expertise and community partnerships
  • Implement mentorship programs to support employee growth and retention
  • Design cross-training opportunities to build organizational resilience
  • Manage an employee's departure in tandem with direct reporting leader, including coordinating the handover of duties, collecting company property, conducting exit interviews, updating employee records, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements related to termination
  • Compensation and Benefits Administration :

  • Support employees with optimizing their benefits packages
  • Develop creative non-monetary benefits and recognition programs
  • Ensure transparent communication about total compensation packages alongside external benefits vendors
  • Organizational Culture and Employee Relations :

  • Foster a positive workplace culture that reflects our mission and values
  • Implement employee engagement initiatives that strengthen commitment to organizational goals
  • Mediate workplace conflicts with sensitivity to non-profit dynamics using Employee Grievance Policy
  • Compliance and Risk Management :

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws specific to non-profit organizations
  • Maintain updated personnel policies and procedures
  • With external vendor, support worker's compensation and unemployment claims
  • With Director of Quality and Compliance, support safety programs and workplace security measures
  • Strategic Leadership :

  • Participate in strategic planning to align HR initiatives with organizational mission and goals
  • Work with staff and leadership to develop succession planning strategies for key positions
  • Create and monitor HR metrics to demonstrate program effectiveness
  • Technology Requirements :

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and ATS platforms
  • Possesses Excel skills for budget and metrics tracking
  • Knowledge of learning management systems

  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Must have good working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands .
  • POSITION REQUIREMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk or hear.

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, with a concentration on Human Resources
  • 10 years of progressive HR experience; Experience in non-profit sector a preferred; PHR / SPHR certification preferred; Demonstrated experience with grant-funded positions and related compliance requirements; Understanding of non-profit governance and operations
  • Valid driver's license and insured automobile
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
