About the Role:
- The main function of a Linguist is to determine language and visual data needs for data-based model and product improvements.
Job Title: Linguist II
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide linguistic expertise, especially in the areas of syntax, semantics, taxonomies, and NLU
- Develop strategies for labeling visual and language data together
- Create guidelines in support of labeling projects that allow vendor labelers to consistently label language, visual, and motion data at quality
- Analyze labeling quality and adjust guidelines as necessary to ensure labeling quality.
- Enforce labeling standards
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in linguistics, language technologies, computational linguistics, or related field
- Experience with SQL, spreadsheets, and other data tools
- Experience with data annotation or labeling
- Design and conduct experiments for evaluating data quality
- Knowledge in transcription and annotation systems such as SAMPA, IPA and ToBI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in linguistics, language technologies, computational linguistics, or related field
- Programming experience such as python, PHP, or JavaScript is a plus
- FAANG background
Location: Remote [USA]
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $62,400 $114,400 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
