Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to oversee all aspects of the accounts payable process. The ideal candidate will lead the AP team, ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, and implement best practices to improve efficiency and compliance. This role is crucial for maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring the company’s financial obligations are met accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management
- Manage, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Delegate tasks, set performance goals, and provide regular feedback to team members.
- Accounts Payable Operations
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment disbursement, and vendor account reconciliation.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and GAAP.
- Manage the month-end and year-end AP closing process, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment discrepancies and address inquiries.
- Negotiate payment terms with vendors to optimize cash flow while maintaining good vendor relationships.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement automation solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounts payable processes.
- Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
- Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports and metrics to inform management decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks).
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
