Electronic Billing Coordinator
Location: Birmingham, AL
A well-established law firm is seeking an Electronic Billing Coordinator to compile, manage, and execute electronic attorney billing. This role requires maintaining communication with attorneys, staff, vendors, and clients while ensuring confidentiality of firm and client matters. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review and edit pre-bills based on attorney and secretary requests.
- Submit electronic bills using specialized E-billing software.
- Apply retainer funds as directed by attorneys.
- Process complex billing structures, including multiple discounts, split-party billing, and electronic bill preparation.
- Identify and resolve errors in the E-billing process.
- Handle a high volume of billing transactions each month.
- Collaborate effectively with attorneys, secretaries, and clients.
- Verify the accuracy of billing details and supporting documentation.
- Research and address billing inquiries and issues.
- Generate billing schedules and various financial analyses as required.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Prior billing experience in a law firm is preferred.
- Experience with Elite, Aderant, Juris, or similar accounting software is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workflow efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate needs and follow through with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work varied hours as needed.
- A college degree is preferred.
