Billing and Reimbursement Coordinator
As a Billing and Reimbursement Coordinator you will be assigned to one or several dialysis facilities depending on their size and volume. In this role you will be responsible for accurate and efficient revenue cycle management (billing/collections) of health insurance payments from insurance carriers. You will coordinate, document, and communicate with health insurance representatives for accurate insurance reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
- Verification of patient insurance coverage/eligibility, policy types, and referrals/authorizations.
- Billing accuracy and revenue collections from all insurance providers to include claim follow up for rejections and payer associated issues.
- Maintain A/R at 45 days or less. Document detailed follow up on individual accounts with alerts for timely action.
- Electronically transmit and track claim status via phone and online portals.
- Prepare and file appeals on denied claims.
- Identify, confirm, and adjust overpayments and outstanding balances.
- Review and address incoming mail correspondence associated with supported facility..
- Build relationships with clients, insurance carriers and representatives.
- Allocate coinsurance and deductible appropriately within the database.
- Review and address incoming mail correspondence associated with supported facility.
- Maneuver in insurance portals to verify eligibility, check benefits, manually encode claims if required, and search for claim adjudication.
- Communicate with patients regarding insurance issues.
- Work with clients to set up EFTs and ERAs.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient personal information per HIPAA guidelines.
- Coordinate with clinic staff to identify procedure/billing errors and recommend corrections.
- Perform other duties as requested by manager.
Qualifications:
- Full Cycle Dialysis Billing Experience 2 years.
- Computer skills required: Proficient in Microsoft Office Products i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel A variety of computer software applications Medical Clearing House platforms 835 and 837 Transaction Sets for Healthcare Claims and Remittances Internet Navigation Ability to use an Electronic Health Record
- Outstanding verbal and communication skills.
- Comfortable with extensive telephone interactions.
- Highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
