About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our company. This role is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and financial management experience, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strategic financial planning. As a key leader, the Controller will collaborate with executive leadership, department heads, and external auditors to drive financial health and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections to support financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate filings.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent financial risk.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and profitability metrics.
- Work closely with leadership to provide financial insights, trends, and strategic recommendations.
- Manage external audits, banking relationships, and financial compliance requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and reporting.
- Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, ensuring professional development and strong performance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably as a Controller or Senior Accountant.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
