As a Port Services Analyst, you’ll play a key role in the Port & Nautical Operations Department, focusing on the financial management of port operations. You will assist in budget planning, financial analysis, invoice processing, and ensure port costs align with financial goals. The role also involves training teams on port cost management software and leading special projects to improve financial efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Port Cost Analysis (25%): Perform competitive analysis and ensure accuracy of port expenses, focusing on port agency, stevedoring, and global port partners.
- Data Insights & Savings (20%): Analyze and present financial data, identifying cost-saving opportunities across port operations.
- Expense Review (15%): Conduct gap analysis of actual expenses versus financial forecasts, supporting the FP&R Department and Port Finance Manager.
- Invoice & Payment Processing (10%): Review and process port invoices, ensuring compliance with agreements and internal controls.
- Global Tariff Management (10%): Maintain and monitor global port tariffs, ensuring timely updates and accurate cost planning.
- Project Leadership (10%): Lead special projects including Cap-Ex & Opex analysis to optimize financial savings.
- Software Training (10%): Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and trainer for the Port Cost Management Software (MXP).
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- Experience: 3 years in Port Operations with 2 years in Finance, Accounting, or similar analytical roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel (formulas, Pivot Tables, VLookup), and MXP software.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: MBA or additional experience in Port Operations or Finance.
