Job Summary:
As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting for various investment funds. Your role will involve ensuring the accuracy and completeness of fund records, preparing financial statements, and working closely with auditors and other financial professionals. You will play a key role in supporting the fund's financial health and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Ensure they comply with GAAP or IFRS, as applicable.
- Fund Accounting: Perform accurate calculation of fund NAV (Net Asset Value), including reconciliation of cash, portfolio holdings, and capital activity.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Liaise with external auditors during financial audits.
- Investor Reporting: Prepare and distribute investor reports, capital statements, and other communications.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of fund accounting practices.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and provide guidance to junior accountants. Oversee their work to ensure high-quality output.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with fund managers, investors, and other stakeholders regarding fund performance and financial matters.
- Risk Management: Monitor and report on financial risks associated with fund investments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fund accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial markets, and investment strategies.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
