Our client is a vertically integrated commercial real estate investment, development, and lending platform, specializing in hospitality with a 30 year track record transacting on more than $5 billion in hospitality assets through various affiliated management and ownership entities.
To accelarate their continuing growth trajectory , they seek a Head of Institutional Capital Raising / Managing Director of Institutional Capital Raising to lead and expand fundraising initiatives across institutional LPs, family offices, RIAs, OCIOs, consultants, and other capital partners. This role will be critical in strengthening their institutional investor base, structuring strategic partnerships, and driving scalable capital formation strategies.

Our client is located in Miami. They offer a hybrid working arrangement but only for local candidates in South Florida or they are open to relocating out of town candidates from other US Cities who can commit to living full time in the Miami area.
Key Responsibilities:
Capital Raising & Investor Relations
- Lead institutional fundraising efforts, developing and executing a strategic plan to raise capital across their investment platforms, including hotel acquisitions, developments, and structured credit strategies across new thematic funds.
- Cultivate and maintain deep relationships with institutional LPs, including public and corporate pensions, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, fund of funds, RIAs, OCIOs, and consultants.
- Drive capital commitments through private equity fund structures, separate accounts, co-investments, and one-off direct investments.
- Develop and execute a targeted roadshow strategy, representing our client at investor meetings, industry conferences, and capital introduction events.
- Lead the due diligence process, addressing investor inquiries and structuring investment proposals aligned with LP objectives.
- Own and manage capital formation pipelines and investor tracking, ensuring a data-driven approach to institutional fundraising.
- Work in collaboration with a third-party Broker-Dealer firm to structure fundraising efforts in compliance with FINRA, SEC, and other regulatory requirements.
Strategic Fundraising Execution & Product Development
- Refine and optimize investment offerings, ensuring alignment with current institutional investor demand and macroeconomic trends.
- Collaborate with the Investment, Acquisitions, and Asset Management teams to articulate our client's value proposition through performance analytics, case studies, and risk-adjusted return profiles.
- Develop marketing and fundraising materials (pitch decks, due diligence questionnaires, PPMs, fact sheets, case studies, and investor letters) in partnership with the Investor Relations, Deal Teams, and Marketing teams.
- Provide insights on market positioning, fund structuring, and capital trends to enhance fundraising strategy.
- Monitor competitor fundraising activities and institutional investor allocation trends within commercial real estate, private equity, and alternative assets.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build and lead a high-performing capital raising team, hiring and mentoring top-tier professionals in institutional fundraising and investor relations.
- Partner with senior leadership on capital formation strategies, ensuring alignment with long-term corporate growth objectives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing across the firm to enhance our client's positioning within the institutional investor landscape.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10 years of capital raising experience, with a proven track record in institutional fundraising across private equity, real estate, or hospitality investments.
- An entrepreneurial and hands-on mindset.
- Established relationships with top-tier institutional LPs, consultants, and wealth management platforms, with the ability to convert these relationships into meaningful capital commitments.
- Deep understanding of institutional due diligence processes, fund structuring, and alternative asset allocation strategies.
- Strong commercial real estate and hospitality investment expertise preferred.
- Prior experience with real estate private equity, hotel investment firms, or REITs strongly preferred.
- Experience raising capital through multiple structures, including closed-end funds, open-end vehicles, separate accounts, co-investments, and JV partnerships.
- FINRA Series 7 & 63 required; Series 24 preferred (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or related field; MBA or CFA/CAIA designation preferred.
