Material Handler / Design Technician

Initial 3-6 month contract

St. Petersburg, FL

Job Summary

• The Materials handler will be responsible for managing and controlling materials used for pre-production builds as part of the design and development process.
• The position is responsible for incoming receiving inspection of materials along with the storage and segregation of components/materials, as needed.
• Along with physical control of the materials, the Materials Manager will be responsible for interacting with supply chain, to update status for parts that have been ordered, including expected delivery dates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain an incoming receiving and inspection area to support limited builds
• Perform incoming receiving and reconciliation with the PO, including required material certifications.
• Organize and maintain a controlled storage area for materials
• Control and record the inflow and outflow of materials from the storage area
• Prepare material availability forecast information consistent with the product build plan
• Maintain detailed status records on materials, procurement activity, materials quantity, receiving inspections, etc.
• Interface with supply chain global team members

Qualifications

• Customer service-oriented
• Familiarity with supply chain, logistics and inventory management systems (ex. MiniMRP)
• Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting
• Ability to read and understand material requirements of drawings and schematics
• Ability to solve problems swiftly
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Very proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to navigate warehouse stairs and lift 25Kg’s

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training in logistics role
• High School Diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED)
