Job Title: Tax Accountant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations. They will ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, while also identifying tax-saving opportunities for clients. The Tax Accountant will be expected to provide expert advice, manage a portfolio of clients, and keep abreast of changing tax laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
- Research and analyze tax issues and provide guidance on tax planning, credits, and deductions.
- Stay up to date with changes in tax laws, policies, and regulations, and advise clients accordingly.
- Assist clients in structuring their financials in a tax-efficient manner to minimize liabilities.
- Work with clients to gather necessary documentation for tax filings and provide guidance on tax-related matters.
- Review financial statements to identify potential tax implications and provide recommendations for tax strategies.
- Represent clients during audits, working with tax authorities to resolve disputes or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, tax filings, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with other accounting professionals and teams to provide comprehensive financial services to clients.
- Ensure timely filing of tax returns and other necessary reports within deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or EA designation preferred).
- 2 years of experience in tax preparation and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws, IRS regulations, and accounting principles.
- Proficient in tax software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSeries) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
