Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking a skilled Legal Assistant with experience in insurance litigation to join a highly regarded law firm in Fort Lauderdale. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to support a dynamic team handling complex insurance defense matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling insurance litigation, bad faith claims, coverage disputes, and complex tort cases.
- Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule hearings, depositions, and client meetings.
- Coordinate and file legal documents through Florida state and federal court e-filing systems.
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- Maintain and organize case files, both electronically and in hard copy.
- Assist with trial preparation, including document management and exhibit organization.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a legal assistant in insurance defense litigation.
- Strong knowledge of Florida court procedures, e-filing systems, and litigation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal case management software.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
