SUMMARY
Clerical Deputies are responsible for performing clerical and office related duties based on their assigned Division, Unit, or Section.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The most important and essential job function of the position is to have an attitude of service to others. Attitude is essential to maintain positive relationships with co-workers, respond professionally, calmly, and politely to members of the community, work as a team member, function under pressure, and respond in a professional manner to supervision. Other duties and responsibilities are listed below.
- Answer telephones professionally from a variety of sources including citizens, law enforcement and public safety officials, dignitaries, and others
- General knowledge of office equipment and technology
- Complete duties in support of co-workers in assigned Division, Unit, or Section
- Perform basic tasks in Microsoft Office and other computer programs and websites related to specific Office tasks
- Accurately file documents and records
- Write legibly and speak clearly to effectively communicate with the public, co-workers, and supervisors
- Other duties as directed by a supervisor
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, general education degree, or equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Compose or reply to emails and complete Office forms.
Ability to effectively communicate with the public and members of this Office.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Accuracy with numbers and balancing financial accounts.
Count money accurately.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer skills, such as word processing, email, and ability to use criminal justice databases and Office websites.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Make sound decisions and possess problem solving skills.
