What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Consultant, RPS position at Ascensus LLC?
This role builds significant relationships and has consistent communication with plan sponsors, brokers and Wrangle staff while exercising discretion and independent judgment over the tasks, duties and job responsibilities outlined below.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains a professional working relationship with assigned block of brokers and plan sponsors, by managing their expectations, responding timely and professionally to email questions, providing advice on questions and issues and utilizing Wrangle resources to meet the needs of the brokers and plan sponsors when appropriate.
- Assists plan sponsors and brokers with understanding Wrangle’s processes, procedures, 5500s in general, and accessing prepared 5500s.
- Sets a professional example for all associates by working professionally, effectively and efficiently with 5500 Specialists and Data Collections; also and assists with staff training and education.
- Takes direction from the Wrangle management regarding any assistance needed and/or with brokers and plan sponsors.
- Masterfully learns and applies applicable laws and regulations governing Form 5500s. This includes, but is not limited to, ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations.
- Adeptly learns and applies the software, hardware and internet-based programs utilized by Wrangle.
- Takes on additional duties assigned by management.
- Protects, secures, and properly handles all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Supervision
- This position does not have any people leader responsibilities
Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
- Requires at least five years of experience with Health and Welfare Form 5500 Preparation and/or ERISA Compliance
- Requires strong communication skills – verbal and written
- Requires at least three years of customer service experience
- Requires strong skills with Excel reports and other related Office software
- Preferred college degree
