Ascensus Senior Corporate Counsel, Legal - Dresher, Pennsylvania The Senior Corporate Counsel supports designated business lines within Ascensus by providing legal counsel to executives and associates across Ascensus’ business units and shared services functions. This role partners closely with Risk, Compliance, Privacy, and Information Security to identify and mitigate risk while ensuring alignment with business objectives. Key job responsibilities include serving as subject matter expert in relevant areas of law; negotiating and drafting contracts; managing disputes and litigation; and supporting a variety of other day-to-day legal matters while demonstrating sound legal and business judgment.Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide advice and counsel to business leaders on legal, regulatory, legislative, compliance, and business issues.Draft, negotiate, review, and interpret various contracts and other legal documents between Ascensus and its clients, partners, vendors, and other third parties.Handle other day-to-day legal issues arising in a growing and complex business including disputes and litigation, employment, intellectual property, and corporate governance.Support Ascensus’s culture by demonstrating our core values of People Matter, Quality First, and Integrity Always in all your actions.Understand Ascensus’ businesses and give practical advice to business leaders.Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with business leaders, clients, prospects, business partners, and others.Think strategically, analytically, and creatively.Drive execution of personal, team, and business goals.Identify, escalate, and resolve issues before they become obstacles.Exhibit adaptability and lead change.Effectively work independently and as part of a team with the willingness and desire to collaborate.Be organized, proactive, and entrepreneurial.Multitask and prioritize while producing high-quality, on-time work.Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.Supervision N / AExperience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school with minimum 5 years’ experience.Licensed to practice law in at least one state and in good standing.Experience in financial services and familiarity with ERISA and related laws and regulations is strongly preferred.Law firm (preferably transactional practice) and in-house experience is a plus.Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.Occasional travel is required.We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.Be aware of employment fraud.
