JOB PURPOSE : DEPARTMENT: B777 CARGO CONVERSION
The Material Coordinator will work within the Materials Department and reports to the Materials Manager. The position coordinates and facilitates the flow of incoming material and has a thorough understanding of daily priorities. Individual will examine production BOM, arrange material to ensure compliance with production plans. Liaisons with affected groups, i.e., planning, ops, purchasing, tooling, shipping, receiving, program management and other groups as required to establish work progress. This role also monitors the inventory levels of all material and takes appropriate action to maintain the balance between inventory, operational performance, and financial objectives.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Requires sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level, crouching, kneeling, or balancing. Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weight up to 50 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated: Telephone, copy machine, computer terminal, forklifts, motorized vehicles.
Work Location: Stores, Tool Room, Shipping, Receiving, Aircraft Maintenance Hangar and Designated Outside Areas.
Protective Equipment Required: Protective footwear, safety glasses, ear protection, gloves.
Potential Hazards: Exposure to high noise levels, occasional residual odors, extreme changes in temperature, materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets, working around moving machinery.

Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required. Independent Material Logistics coursework desired.
Experience: One-year previous material experience required.
Certificates/Licenses: Valid driver’s license required.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
- Attend daily morning status meetings.
- Attend all pre-dock, post-dock meetings and any additional meeting as scheduled.
- Coordinate with purchasing to monitor and track hot /priority materials and update BOM notes to reflect current status.
- Obtain updated information from purchasing daily and coordinate with receiving to expedite priority parts through the system.
- Notify Project Managers and Planning priority parts that are received and available for issuing to job card(s).
- Communicate with tool buyer the need for rental or loaned tooling that is unavailable from the Ascent tool inventory to prevent delays in maintenance and aircraft delivery.
- In conjunction with stores personnel, conduct shelf audits / inventory counts, fulfill and process POs from Tucson verifying that correct certs and material prior to shipment to Tucson. Complete required documents ensuring accuracy prior to passing to the shipping department.
- Maintain communication within the area of responsibility, keeping employees informed of day-to-day operation, current performance indicators and future plans and events.
- Marginal Job Functions:
- Ensure that all work performed is done in a safe manner. Directs activities to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions.
- Will monitor and ensure SMS compliance, safe workplace initiatives/practices are followed, and to eliminate health hazards.
- Will enforce safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance, equipment operation requirements, safety reporting and provide resources to eliminate hazardous conditions.
- Will implement approved safety suggestions and solutions for achieving a safer, healthier workplace.
