Job Title: Interventionist/Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator
Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Grand Junction-(ACAGJ)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Dean of Student Services
Work Hours/Days: Faculty calendar, M-F, School days, and professional development days
Salary Range: $55,000 to $65,000
Desired Start Date: *August 2025
- Please note this position requires training in Hillsdale, MI, for up to 5 days in June. Travel, conference, food and lodging is covered by ACACS
Essential Functions:
MTSS Implementation & Leadership
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the MTSS framework, ensuring alignment with state guidelines and school improvement plans.
- Facilitate the use of data-driven decision-making to support academic and behavioral interventions
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and specialists to establish and maintain a tiered system of support.
Data Analysis & Progress Monitoring
- Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting student data to identify at-risk students and determine intervention effectiveness.
- Support teachers in using progress monitoring tools and assessments to guide instructional decisions.
- Ensure the effective use of universal screening and diagnostic assessments to inform interventions.
Intervention Development & Coordination
- Guide the selection and implementation of evidence-based interventions across all tiers.
- Support staff in differentiating instruction and utilizing intervention strategies.
- Monitor fidelity of intervention implementation and adjust supports as needed.
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Provide training and coaching to teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff on MTSS processes and best practices.
- Work with school psychologists, special education teams, counselors, and other support staff to coordinate services.
- Communicate with parents and families regarding MTSS processes, student progress, and available resources.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of student interventions, progress monitoring data, and team meetings.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to MTSS, special education (IDEA), and Section 504 plans.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to MTSS and Response to Intervention (RtI).
Parent & Community Engagement
- Educate families about MTSS processes and available supports.
- Facilitate partnerships with community organizations and external agencies for additional student services.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required (Colorado Teaching license is NOT required)
- Commitment to the policies, mission, and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools of Colorado
- Commitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government
- All faculty will be required to participate in a study of Tried and True by Daniel Copeland and The Abolition of Man by C.S. Lewis
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively articulate information and issues
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment, superior organization, and computer skills
- Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Willingness to support the school leadership team as needed
- Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations.

Preferred skills/abilities:
- Master's Degree is a bonus but not required
- School experience
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to traverse the classroom and the school
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer
- Must be able to supervise outdoor duties
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
