Compensation Range : $50,000 - $65,000 annually
Start Date : August 1, 2025
- Teachers and student support will need to be able to attend teacher training in Hillsdale, MI, for up to 10 days in June. Travel to the conference, lodging and food, are covered by ACACS
Position Summary : At Ascent Classical Academy of Grand Junction, interventionists work with teachers to execute the content-rich curriculum established by Hillsdale College. Interventionists are dedicated to mastering the key elements of their instruction and to their students' intellectual and moral betterment. Essential Functions :
Promote the school's mission and vision for classical educationSupport primary teachers in the appropriate identification of students in kindergarten through grade 6 needing math interventionProvide one-on-one and small group math instruction to students needing math interventionWork with classroom teachers to push into the class for math support as neededPlan and use appropriate, research-based instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of identified students in the area of mathUse assessment data to drive instructional decisions on daily basisDevelop and implement daily lesson plans and small group activities consistent with Colorado State standards, current research methodology, and classical pedagogyProvide students with specific evaluative feedbackCommunicate with students, teachers, and parentsDemonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations.Perform related duties as requiredRequired Skills / Abilities :
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Mathematics, or related fieldA Master's Degree preferred but not required5 years of classroom experience teaching mathematicsCommitment to the policies, mission, and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools, Inc.Commitment to classical education and high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-governmentFaculty will be required to participate in a study of Tried and True by Daniel Copeland and The Abolition of Man by C.S. LewisKnowledge of classical education (or the willingness and desire to learn)Knowledge of Singapore math curriculum and pedagogy or willingness to learnExcellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively articulate information and issuesAbility to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment, superior organization, and computer skillsDevelop positive and professional relationships with team membersProvide excellent customer service and always maintain confidentiality and professionalismWillingness to complete other related duties as requestedPhysical Requirements :
