Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as Quicken.
- Ability to learn new software that integrates with our accounting software. (We are in the process of transitioning to a Project Management software)
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Balance checking and credit accounts.
- Assist with corporate accounting functions, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Support governmental accounting requirements as needed, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and tax preparation.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Stay informed about financial regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Bookkeeping for multiple small but growing companies.
Experience
- 2 years accounting experience or a degree in accounting required.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Quicken or similar platforms is essential.
- Practical skills in Microsoft software necessary.
- Familiarity with corporate accounting principles and governmental accounting practices is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
