What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler 2 position at Ascential Technologies?
- Receiving & Inspection:
- Verify incoming materials and parts against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Input received material data into the system and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure incoming materials are inspected before distribution, as per procedures.
- Report damaged freight or discrepancies in quantity to the supervisor and/or purchasing department.
- Material Distribution & Handling:
- Distribute received materials to appropriate departments using material handling equipment.
- Load and unload trucks for shipping and receiving operations.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Coordinate material movement to production areas as needed.
- Shipping & Logistics:
- Prepare outgoing shipments according to specifications and Workmanship Standards.
- Build and design skids/crates if necessary for secure shipping.
- Maintain accurate outgoing shipment counts and ensure proper documentation.
- Arrange carriers, determine freight rates, and expedite deliveries when necessary.
- Verify deliveries and maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including purchase orders, delivery tickets, and bills of lading.
- Input required shipping and receiving data into the computer system.
- Workplace Safety & Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean and safe dock and work area.
- Follow company safety procedures and regulations at all times.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with all departments to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Maintain open communication and support a team-oriented environment.
