Work Location/Program Overview:
Ascentria’s Young Parents Program supports team moms and their young children living in multi-cultural congregate community settings to gain the skills and independence to live productively in the community. Staff actively work to provide support and collaboration with community partners including DCF, schools, courts and therapists. This important work allows staff to substantially impact lives and make a real difference!
Position Overview:
The Child and Family Services Case Worker provides clinical case management to children and families, focusing on achieving a permanent, long-term life plan for each child. This includes outreach, intensive case management, and direct services while collaborating with various systems and advocating for the child’s needs. The CFS Case Worker is also responsible for developing and completing assessments, service plans, treatment plans, progress notes, and court reports in a timely manner.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience working with children and families
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred)
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to transport minors if needed
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and email
- Experience working with children who have social/emotional/physical challenges (preferred)
- Knowledge of federal, state, program, and agency regulations (preferred)
