The Maintenance Worker is responsible and accountable for the maintenance and upkeep of the Luther Ridge buildings, grounds and equipment. Luther Ridge is a residential community for older adults located in Middletown, CT.

Welcome to Luther Ridge, the only community in Connecticut to offer 3 subsidized living options for seniors under the same roof. Our facility sits on a quiet wooded campus in the center of Connecticut, in Middlesex County.
At Luther Ridge, we meet the physical, social and spiritual needs of our residents with personal care and professional expertise; regardless of financial means.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Respond to work orders and perform minor repairs on facility equipment and systems under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
- Maintain and make repairs to Luther Ridge physical plant, contents, and resident equipment
- Assist in sustaining preventative maintenance program on equipment and supplies.
- Assist in the repair of movable & permanent equipment in building as needed; includes A/C, heating, electrical, lighting, plumbing, emergency generator, fire alarm, sprinklers, beds, wheelchairs, medical equipment and lifts, etc.
- Provide assistance in renovating rooms as directed, including but not limited to painting, floor & ceiling repairs.
- Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
- Demonstrate professional work behavior by following Service Standards and Success factors.
- Comply with departmental organizational policies and procedures and adheres to external agency requirements.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience operating machinery, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work or heating systems preferred; or the ability to learn about these systems
- Must have valid CT driver's license.
- Ability to work flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings preferred
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset people within the facility.
- Ability to work independently and be organized
