What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Recruiter position at ASE?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
ASE has a great new opportunity for a Contract Recruiter to support a long-term hiring project in Lapeer, Michigan. This position is partially remote, with a need for you to be on-site an average of 2-3 days per week. This key role is part of a cohesive HR team operating in a casual work environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the entire recruitment process for both salaried and hourly positions, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and the Training team to understand staffing needs, job requirements, and team culture, ensuring informed hiring decisions. This includes navigating the industrial environment to observe operations on the shop floor.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, networking, referrals, job fairs, and direct outreach to build and maintain a talent pipeline.
- Work with hiring managers and the People & Culture team to create and update job descriptions to attract top talent and improve search engine results.
- Available to work on-site 2-3 days a week to facilitate interviews and conduct face-to-face meetings with candidates, hiring managers, and the People & Culture team.
- Utilize the Applicant Tracking System to manage recruitment processes.
- Collaborate with hiring managers, Finance, and the People & Culture team to monitor budgeted headcount and approved requisitions.
- Ensure all recruitment efforts comply with company policies and legal requirements.
- Develop metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and practices.
- Regularly meet with hiring managers and trainers to assess the performance of new hires.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally with both salaried and hourly positions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred (not required).
- Analytical skills with experience using data to inform decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Teams.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience with HRIS (DayForce or other ATS) preferred.
DURATION: This position is expected to last through the end of 2025, with the possibility of direct hire.
COMPENSATION: This is an hourly "W-2" position, paying in the $27.00 - $32.00 per hour range, depending on experience.
