Position: Product Owner – Integrations

Reports To: VP, Patient and Physician Engagement
Primary Function:
The primary responsibility of the Product Owner - Integrations includes designing, testing, and supporting new and existing integrations for our external partners and vendors. In addition, the Product Owner - Integrations is expected to be fully responsible for our own APIs that we publish, and collaborate effectively with other software engineers, quality assurance, project management, and operations to deliver high quality integrations which are well documented in a fast-paced environment.
Job Scope and Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall design and concepts relating to our hosted APIs
- Lead the effort to produce documentation regarding our APIs and enforce the maintenance and upkeep of that documentation
- Meet with our external customers and provide guidance and consulting on how they should be integrating with us using our APIs.
- Confer with business analysts, project managers and other software engineers regarding integration design, data usage, and work processes.
- Create solutions for partners and customers where we have a need for an integration to be developed. Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
- Troubleshoot and investigate problem areas, identify areas where gaps exist and come up with solutions to address them.
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating the requirements, analysis, solution development, and proposed solutions.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of software development and how APIs are used to connect systems from different entities.
- Update job knowledge by studying new developments in the API industry.
- Participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations.
- Adhere at all times to physical, administrative and technical safeguards related to core business when executing job functions.
- Comply with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and its implementing regulations, as amended (“HIPAA”)
Performance Criteria:
This role is evaluated by the accuracy and effectiveness of the documentation and implemented solutions, as well as timely communication with vendors, partners, other business users and IT teams. Achieving performance targets for code resiliency and defect rate is critical for assessing this role’s performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Relevant job experience supporting APIs and other types of integrations. B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering is a huge plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with customers, vendors, and members of various internal IT teams.
- 5 years in a technology role supporting or maintaining multiple systems that need to communicate with each other
- 3 years writing clear and professional documentation that can be distributed to external entities.
- 3 years of experience querying databases using Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
- 3 years of experience troubleshooting technical issues relating to integrations between systems.
- Experience in pharmacy, healthcare, HIPPA/HITRUST and security is a plus.
