We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the transportation of goods by connecting shippers with carriers, ensuring efficient and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong account management skills and a solid understanding of transportation planning, enabling them to effectively manage customer relationships and navigate the complexities of logistics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and carriers to facilitate freight movement.
- Manage accounts by understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Coordinate transportation planning to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other relevant industry standards.
- Oversee dispatching activities, ensuring that shipments are executed as planned.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to track shipments and manage logistics operations.
- Engage in inside sales activities, including lead generation to expand the client base.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers to secure competitive rates and services.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize freight operations and improve service delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in account management within the logistics or transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning processes and best practices.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations related to shipping and logistics is preferred.
- Experience in dispatching operations is a plus.
- Excellent customer relationship management skills, with a focus on building long-term partnerships.
- Proficiency in software applications related to logistics, including transportation management systems (TMS).
- Demonstrated ability in lead generation and inside sales techniques.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on negotiation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts effectively.
