Position Summary:
Ash & Elm Cider Co. is seeking a Hospitality Specialist to join our team to ensure our guests have a positive experience as soon as they enter our restaurant. The Hospitality Specialist role is the first & last person at Ash & Elm Cider Co. to interact with our guests. The Hospitality Specialist performs our main guest service function.
Ideal candidates will have good customer service and good communication skills, planning and multitasking skills, and also be self motivated with a positive energy.
Essential Functions:
- Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant.
- Ensure that all guests receive exceptional service and resolve any guest concerns or issues.
- Foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, ensuring guests feel valued and appreciated.
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing the taproom reputation for outstanding service.
- Manage the board software when it comes to seating and reservations.
- Manage the retail space and be able to provide customers with insight into our products.
- Seating guests and guiding them to their table.
- Timing the seating of guests to ensure different server sections are well-balanced and paced correctly.
- Giving guests accurate wait time estimates, seating them in the waiting area, and managing the waitlist.
- Providing customers with menus and answering any initial questions they may have.
- Maintaining the organization of the host stand.
- Assisting servers and bartenders with opening and closing duties, as needed.
- Participating in a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
- Assisting with bussing and running food/drinks as needed.
- Performing other responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The employee frequently is required to be on their feet, standing or walking/moving briskly, for several hours at a time. The employee is required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and lift kegs (with help) stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to work hours that exceed 10 PM. The employee must occasionally lift or move a minimum of 20 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
Compensation and benefits
- This position pays $13.00-$15.00 per hour.
- Part-time employees have a flexible schedule, time-and-a-half holiday pay, and an employee discount.
