Chief Operating Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Management:
• Lead and manage all fabrication operations, including production planning, scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource allocation. 
• Monitor production performance metrics (e.g., cycle time, scrap rates, throughput) and implement improvements to maximize efficiency. 
• Oversee quality control procedures throughout the fabrication process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. 
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to optimize stock and minimize carrying costs. 
• Strategic Planning:
• Collaborate with the CEO to develop and execute strategic plans for the fabrication business, including capacity expansion, product diversification, and technology upgrades. 
• Identify and implement operational improvements to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance productivity. 
• Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for new product development and service offerings. 
• Team Leadership:
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of production managers, engineers, quality inspectors, and other operational staff. 
• Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the fabrication facility. 
• Provide mentorship and career development opportunities for team members. 
• Financial Oversight:
• Develop and manage operational budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effective production. 
• Monitor key financial metrics related to fabrication operations, identifying areas for cost reduction. 
• Analyze production data to identify potential cost savings and implement improvements. 
• Customer Focus:
• Collaborate with sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met and customer satisfaction is maintained. 
• Manage customer order fulfillment process, including on-time delivery and quality standards. 
• Address customer concerns and resolve production-related issues promptly. 

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven track record in manufacturing operations management, preferably within a fabrication environment. 
• Deep understanding of fabrication processes, including cutting, welding, machining, and assembly techniques. 
• Strong leadership and team building skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams. 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address operational challenges. 
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. 
• Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and cost control measures. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
