Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Substance Use Disorder Group Facilitator to lead therapeutic and educational group sessions for individuals in recovery. The ideal candidate will have experience in substance use treatment, a strong understanding of recovery principles, and the ability to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space for clients to share and grow.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate group therapy and psychoeducational sessions focused on substance use recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, and life skills.
- Utilize evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and 12-Step facilitation.
- Collaborate with clinical team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Document group attendance, participation, and clinical observations in accordance with organizational policies and state/federal regulations.
- Maintain group safety and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards at all times.
- Provide referrals and support resources as needed.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
- CRS and/or CPS Certification a plus.
- Minimum of 1–2 years experience facilitating substance use disorder or mental health groups.
- Strong group facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to establish rapport with diverse populations in a compassionate and respectful manner.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and harm reduction approaches is a plus.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
