What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Asheville Endocrinology?
Major Job Duties
Collect and record medical history, take and record vital signs from in-office patients for provider. Prepare appropriate paper work for office visits.
Answer, document, prioritize and return incoming patient telephone calls.
Request patient reports from other medical provider as requested by physician
Print prescription for signature at provider request.
Respond to in-office emergency as required.
Notify in writing the appropriate personnel when using the last of a supply or medication.
Administer medication as ordered by provider.
Assist provider with procedure as requested.
Take appropriate action for faxes received.
Maintain OSHA standards and keep exam rooms cleaned and stocked with supplies.
Handle patient inquiries and concerns in reference to their clinical treatment, etc.
Handle provider inquiries and concerns in reference to clinical activities.
Maintain appropriate interactions with patients, superiors and co-workers
Perform other work related duties as requested and support functions as assigned.
Maintain Privacy and HIPAA standards.
