Procurement and Accounts Payable Coordinator

Full-Time Office Position Located in City Center, Newport News Va.

Asheville Mica Company is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Procurement and Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our team. This role is integral in supporting our procurement operations, enhancing vendor relations, and streamlining our accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate will have a background in procurement and accounts payable, strong administrative skills, and the ability to develop and improve processes while working collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Serve as the primary contact for vendor and supplier inquiries.

- Process procurement orders and respond to vendor inquiries.

- Provide status updates on purchase orders.

- Maintain shipping releases and documentation.

- Compile new part data per RFQs and facilitate entry and setup into ERP.

- Assist in continuous improvement of the procurement processes.

- Provide support for sourcing activities and department inquiries.

- Liaise with freight forwarders and customs brokers when needed.

- Process accounts payable invoices and expense reimbursements.

- Verify expense coding and assist with expense analysis.

- Verify invoice accuracy and approval.

- Maintain vendor file accuracy and assist with 1099 reporting.

- Process cash disbursements.

- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- 5 years of experience in a procurement or accounts payable role.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Sharepoint, Outlook, Excel and Word.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in the manufacturing industry.

- Familiarity with international shipping and customs brokerage.

- Knowledge of Supply Chain processes and best practices.

- Experience with Netsuite ERP.
