Correctional Officer

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Correctional Officer to maintain safety and security within our facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong conflict management skills, uphold law enforcement principles, and ensure the well-being of both staff and inmates. This role requires a commitment to upholding regulations and policies while fostering a safe environment.

Duties

• Supervise inmate activities to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including monitoring CCTV systems for any suspicious behavior.
• Manage conflicts among inmates effectively and calmly, utilizing conflict management techniques.
• Respond to emergencies, providing first aid and CPR as necessary until additional help arrives.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities for record-keeping purposes.
• Enforce rules and regulations consistently while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
• Collaborate with other law enforcement personnel to ensure the safety of the facility.

Experience

• Previous experience in law enforcement or correctional environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with conflict management strategies and techniques is essential.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in militarized response may be beneficial.
• Proficient in report writing to document incidents accurately.
• Experience operating CCTV systems for surveillance purposes is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.32 - $23.07 per hour
