The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Corrections Officer.
The position is responsible for managing, directing, and controlling the behavior of inmates within established rules and guidelines. Successful applicants must be at least 19 years of age, have obtained a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, pass a background investigation that includes but, is not limited to: medical exam, psychological exam, drug testing and truth verification exam.

The starting wage is presently $23.23 per hour and progresses thru a three year step system topping out at $34.93 per hour. Benefits included but are not limited to: Paid Holidays, Paid Vacation, Personal Days, Bonus Days and Sick Time, Excellent Health Care Benefits, Uniform Allowance, Public Employees Retirement System and Longevity pay. The work entails shift (afternoons, midnights and dayshift), weekends and holiday work.
