Retail Waterer and Project Assistance

Job Summary

Ashland Greenhouses has been known for locally grown, region specific plants since 1906. We grow 100% of the plant starts we sell. All of our plants are selected to do well in our unique climate. We are open to the public and serve individual gardeners, landscapers, and businesses. We also ship wholesale orders to independent garden centers, nurseries, and flower shops.

As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be working directly with customers in our Retail Store. You will represent Ashland Greenhouses with logoed apparel and maintain professional, attentive customer service at all times.

**Positions are seasonal and the compensation is minimum wage**

Job Responsibilities

While working, responsibilities will include:

· Following watering lists with high accuracy and attention to detail

· Pulling, lifting, organizing hoses

· Using precise watering methods to hand water all plants

· Assist with carry-outs of plants and soils (not to exceed 40lbs)

· Assist stockers condensing plants in flats, and removing, sorting, and stacking empty flats

· Maintain a safe and clean sales area by reporting or dealing with hazards immediately and keeping up with sweeping duties

· Assist with maintaining accuracy of plant signage and pricing

· Assemble cardboard carryout trays as needed

Skills

Some skills essential for the position are:

· Functional knowledge of the plant care and plant identification

· Ability to do basic math and calculate percentages

· Ability to stand/be on your feet for a full shift

· Ability to lift, pull, and push 20 lbs. repeatedly and lifts and maneuver up to 40 lbs. intermittently

· Ability to tolerate working outdoors in cold and hot conditions

· Willingness to work early morning shifts with flexible/variable hours ranging from 8 to 40 hours a week on weekdays and weekends.
