Warehouse Safety / Operations Supervisor

We are currently hiring a Warehouse Machine Operator/Safety Supervisor to manage the safety program in a 150k sf warehouse while being responsible for training and management of order picker operators. This position is a Monday through Friday Day Shift role. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a Safety Supervisor role and experience operating cherry pickers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Required to work a schedule that may be changed/modified by management based on the needs of the business.
- Coordinate Warehouse Safety Meetings
- Train and Manage Order Picker Operators
- Plan and allocate labor to workload in various warehouse departments
- Manage accurate and proper picking and putaway of product.
- Work in WMS to create transfers and facilitate system movement of inventory.
- Be a key holder and facilitate securely closing the warehouse
- Research any inventory issues related to picking and putting away of product.
- Train all warehouse personnel and hold them accountable to warehouse safety standards
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong safety orientation and proven record of complying with safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision or with a team
- Must be detail oriented and able to stay organize in a fast-paced environment.
- Approachable and professional demeanor
- Basic computer, math and reading comprehension skills
- Ability to work in Warehouse environment which includes exposure to outdoor weather conditions including extreme temperatures, and other related conditions including humidity
- Regular exertion of up to 25 pounds of force, and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force required
Education Or Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Proficient in Excel
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with RF Inventory Control and WMS(Warehouse Management Systems)
- Minimum 3 years leadership experience in a distribution center of at least 150,000 SF
- 5S experience preferred
- Furniture Industry experience preferred
