Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-orientated Assistant Controller to join our growing business. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the Controller in financial reporting and analysis. This is an on-site position working 10 hour days Monday-Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll and monthly gainshare utilizing ADP Workforce Now.
- Maintain current knowledge of ADP’s capabilities to support data requests and participate in projects.
- Update and input wage garnishment orders and communicate with appropriate parties as required.
- Compute vacation payout and appropriate vacation and holiday accruals.
- Assist in the 401(k)-plan administration such as census completion, annual audit assistance, and monthly reconciliations.
- Ownership of payroll processes; policy and process design, documentation, communication, and reporting practices.
- Develop payroll audit procedures and provide support with audits related to payroll records.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
- Process month end account reconciliations.
- Process weekly payroll journal entries and month end accruals.
- Track Tooling Projects.
- Assist in period end closing and reporting.
- Assist with A/P and A/R duties.
- Assist with year in audit.
Experience
- 5 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes and regulations.
- Previous payroll experience using ADP preferred.
- Prior experience using an ERP system.
- Competency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism with people inside and outside of the accounting department.
- Motivated self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Customer Service driven with strong verbal and written communication skills.
