Design Technician

Job Overview: Are you ready to channel your design skills into creating precise and effective construction-ready drawings? We are looking for a dedicated Design Technician to join our team, this will be in the far west valley. In this role, you’ll transform sketches and data into detailed designs that comply with the latest safety codes and standards. From initial concepts to final drawings, your work will be integral to ensuring smooth construction processes.

Long-term W2 Contract Assignment. No third-party candidates

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

• Creating detailed design drawings using GIS tools, based on a variety of data sources such as aerial photography and field sketches.
• Maintaining and updating the Smallworld database, including schematic and field installation records.
• Working under the guidance of Designers or Design Consultants to ensure all drawings meet required standards and specifications.
• Interpreting and integrating engineering and geographic data to develop necessary design products.
• Conducting training sessions to enhance team skills for handling more complex assignments.
• Submitting permit requests and coordinating with various departments for inspections and surveys.
• Preparing material lists and coordinating with teams to ensure all construction requirements are met.
• Performing field checks to verify the accuracy of maps and records.
• Contributing to the development of GIS applications and suggesting process improvements for greater efficiency.
• Supporting design functions for minor distribution projects and assisting with major project designs.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in roles such as CAD Technician, GIS Technician, or similar positions.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is preferred.
