Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator
Description: The Asian Association of Utah’s (AAU) mission is to engage, equip, and empower victims of human trafficking, refugees, and refugee youth to improve, become self-sufficient, and thrive. This position in housed within the Behavioral Health Department and reports to the department's Clinical Director and Operations Director. The Intake Coordinator works directly with a multi-disciplinary team of therapists, medication prescribers, and case managers. This position manages therapists’ schedules, referrals, and community outreach and education for behavioral health.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for assisting all members of the Behavioral Health team. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring, scheduling, and following up on external referrals for behavioral health, substance use, and domestic violence treatment.
- Coordinating interpreter’s schedules and appointments to ensure culturally responsive treatment for all clients.
- Completing regular reports for agency, City, County, State, and Federal levels.
- Performing intakes for clients who need behavioral health, substance use, or domestic violence evaluations.
- Maintaining up to date client records both physically and electronically.
- Providing educational presentations to other community agencies regarding the refugee experience and cultural responsiveness.
- Providing educational presentations to refugee populations regarding signs and symptoms of behavioral health, substance use, and domestic violence.
- Coordinating with AAU’s internal departments to ensure client referrals are receiving therapy services.
- Acting as the point of contact for the Behavioral Health Department.
- Assisting with grant writing/reporting as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- At least 2 years of experience in office administration
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA Compliancy
Preferred:
- Fluent in a common refugee language (ie, Arabic, Somali, Spanish, etc)
- Proficient in UWITS
- Basic understanding of behavioral health, substance use, and domestic violence
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
