Job Title:  Intake Specialist

Location: Durham, NC- 27702 

Duration: 6 months contract  

pay scale is $18-$19/hr 

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Process a variety of requests, inquiries, and transactions via phone, email, fax, and mail
• Review requests for accuracy and ensure all relevant information is captured
• Support internal and external customers via phone or email
• Document all pertinent information related to each inquiry, attaching supporting documents as necessary
• Route unresolved inquiries to the appropriate department for follow-up
• Gather and analyze data to provide feedback to Team Leads on employee development needs and areas where specific providers may require education on prior approval or pre-certification processes
• Screen inquiries to determine whether authorization is required
• Verify member benefits, eligibility, and/or provider setup
• Maintain and update Service Requests, ensuring all information is correct and complete
• Triage and assign incoming inquiries efficiently to the appropriate team members throughout the day
• Conduct Peer Audits on a monthly basis as required
• Provide clinical review outcome notifications to members and providers both verbally and in writing

Hiring Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field, preferably within healthcare or customer service
