Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality patient and population care, developing and implementing efficient protocols for shelter medicine principles and best practices.
• Oversee all aspects of medical operations, including intake exams, vaccinations, infectious disease management, and euthanasia decisions.
• Provide direct clinical care for LA Feline cases, including surgical procedures and teaching shelter medicine principles to staff and volunteers.
Requirements
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited veterinary college.
• Eligibility for licensure in California (CA) as a veterinarian, with current licensure strongly preferred.
• 5 years of veterinary practice experience in small animal or shelter medicine and surgery, with Category II USDA accreditation or ability to obtain.
• Excellent clinical skills, low-stress animal handling, and resiliency to make end-of-life decisions.
