Your position goals and objectives include:
Manages the functions in the discharge assembly, analysis, and filing of records.
Under direction f the Director, supervisors the day-to-day operations of department and management of departmental staff
Reviews reports for accuracy
- Supports the Director in maintining oversight and facilitation of HIM committee and functions.
- Serves as liaison between department and hospital business office in regard to coding and UB92’s.
- Serves as Facility coder with a required overall accuracy rate of 95%.
Your qualifications and experience will include:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
Experience: Two years' of experience as a coder with Medical Records preferred
Licensure/Certification: CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCA (Certified Coding Associate), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) REQUIRED. RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) preferred.
Supervisory Experience: One or more years of supervisory experience in medical coding environment is preferred
Other: Must be at least 21 years of age or older and able to pass a background check and drug screen
Knowledge: Health Information Management (HIM) systems and operations. Computer literate with skill sets to work in a fast-paced environment.
