Introduction: Aspen Medical has an exciting opportunity for Health Educators to partner with us in providing temporary contracted medical services to Military Treatment Facilities throughout the United States. Today’s posting will place you at the primary location of the Naval Hospital Bremerton, WA. Hospital: Bremerton Naval Hospital

Location: United States, Bremerton, WA

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree/Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Community Health, Public Health or a Human Services related field. Graduate from an accredited college or university
• Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: None
• Experience: One year of specialized experience as a Health Educator after graduation
  
  

Core Duties:

Provide health promotion and education opportunities including, but not limited to, tobacco awareness; tobacco cessation classes or appointments consistent with the MTF tobacco cessation program; and nutrition education and weight management. Develop population-based programs targeting high-risk groups and individuals, implementing programs through group and individual counseling and education. Plan and implement health education programs as specified in the TO. Perform limited administrative duties, which include maintaining statistical records of workload and data entry and analysis of patient outcomes. Maintain educational materials to support health promotion and education.

• Hours of Performance: Duty hours will vary by position and location; however, typical duty hours are scheduled between 0700 -1700, Monday through Friday. Hours are subject to change and may include nights and weekends

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to walk, stand, and bend for 6-8 hours per day
• Able to distinguish between basic colors
• Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers in stressful situations
• Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation and undergo urine drug testing
• Advanced medical and anatomical skills
• Knowledge of general surgery practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong motor skills and manual dexterity
• Ability to work long and irregular hours
• Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and focused on stressful situations
