IT Specialist
- Operates and maintains laptops and network printers, plotters, scanners, and copiers to ensure proper operation.
- Develops and maintains an accurate inventory of information technology hardware/software and telecommunications equipment for the agency.
- Ensures appropriate system hardware maintenance, system file backup, system mass storage utilization, and system hardware/software data security.
- Installs, distributes, and maintains computer software and hardware (i.e., troubleshoots and repairs personal computers, laptops, printers, scanners, copiers, audio/video equipment, and other peripheral devices utilized in the Windows environment) to ensure proper operations.
- Installs software and hardware versions and updates, configures, and tests computer software, hardware, and/or user systems for effective integration of software systems (e.g., Windows environment).
- Installs and configures computer devices such as Windows and Apple desktop endpoints, Windows and Apple laptop endpoints, Windows and Apple Tablets and mobile phones. Creates, analyzes, reports, converts, or transfers data, using specialized applications or web-based platforms.
- Diagnoses and resolves complex problems in response to customer-reported incidents. Analyzes computer systems when problems occur to determine the best procedure to follow to restore operational status.
- Installs files and software on user's personal computers, ensures access to all required programs, and connectivity to Local Area Network (LAN). Adds to and deletes users from computer systems, and transfers users from one system to another.
- Works directly with the user, either on-site or over the telephone to obtain information concerning system problems and implements corrective actions. Provides support in a manner that minimizes interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities.
- Works directly and expediently with remote and off-site users to resolve log-on or connectivity problems or issues. Ensures all programming changes are implemented in a timely manner.
